Drone Net at the Radar Innovation Lab

We built a small drone net in 2016 to allow for the testing of small rotocraft  designs before they are transitioned to a fully operational platforms. A netted facility such as this is considered inside by the Federal Aviation Administration and allows us to test systems at early stages before we take them out into the National Airspace.

This resource is located right behind the Advanced Radar Research Center’s Radar Innovation Lab. This is a wonderful resource for CASS that offers fabrication and manufacturing spaces close by our home base in the National Weather Center. The ARRC is also home to three of CASS’s faculty, Drs. Chilson, Ruyle, and Salazar.
