The CASS Laboratory or the CASSL is the newest addition to our facilities. Over the next few years, we are converting an old conference and office space into a fully outfitted fabrication and manufacturing facility that will enable us to build customized components for a variety of autonomous systems. It also serves as our vehicle bay where we can perform maintenance or build new platforms.
A net-enclosed flight field is also currently being installed behind the CASSL When completed, it will measure 200′ by 240′ and will be 35′ high and will compliment the smaller drone net at the Radar Innovations Lab on the OU Research Campus. We hope to use this as a flight practice field for aspiring drone operators and a systems test-bed for both OU researchers and the community at large.
This facility is located near Max Westheimer Airport on Industrial Boulevard, across the street from the Oklahoma Geological Survey.
